- text Bulukax [phonetic transcription] Contents: Transcription is evidently of the entire interview, preparatory to identifying a passage for excerpting from the tape and adding as "natural speech" to the Yucatec Maya course.
- text Cantamayec [phonetic transcription] Contents: Transcription is evidently of the entire interview, preparatory to identifying a passage for excerpting from the tape and adding as "natural speech" to the Yucatec Maya course. It is not known why McQuown used the title "Kantamayek" on page 1.
- text Dzitas 1 [phonetic transcription] Contents: McQuown transcribed both tracks of the tape, indicating with wavy lines the portions he wanted excerpted for the Spoken Yucatec Maya course.
- text Tekax - Dña. tina [phonetic transcription] McQuown probably transcribed the tape phonetically not long after the recording in order to facilitate excerpting. The text covers an indeterminate but substantial part of Track 1.
- text Tixmeuac 2 [phonetic transcription] Contents: Pages 1-69: Transcription of Track 1 (Note: The title on the first page appears in the middle of the page: "Tišméewak tape #2". Page 43 repeats the title: "tišméewak (cinta #2 continuación)". Pages 70-118: Transcription of Track 2 (Note: Apparently confused, McQuown titles the page "Side 1".)
- text Ticul [phonetic...]: Part 1 (Pages 1-69) Contents=Track 1 of the tape
- text Peto 3 [phonetic...] (part 1: pp. 1-28) (Note: The handwriting on this manuscript on unlined paper is almost certainly that of Norman McQuown, but the crowded, slanted lines suggest a hasty job and point to this being an early effort.)
- text Peto (INI) [phonetic transcription] Contents: Transcriptions of the conversations between Refugio Vermont-Salas, on the one hand, and Waldmaro Cawich and Marcelino Ek', on the other (from Tracks 1 and 2 of the tape). [ [Note: McQuown wrote "Cinta #4" at the top of page 1, which is now identified as the five-inch reel labeled on the spine as "PETO (INI) Conversaciones Mayas", B/C A7002265W.]
- text Pustunich [phonetic transcription]
- text Peto 2 [phonetic transcription] (part 2)
- text Peto 3 [phonetic...] (part 2: pp. 1-5) [incomplete] (Note: The transcription breaks off after the first six minutes, 22 seconds of the audio file (at "tu oblig").)
- text Ticul [phonetic...]: Part 2 (Pages 70-144) Contents=Track 2 of the tape
- text Peto 4 [Phonetic...]: Unknown recording (Note: McQuown titled this text "Don Pepe Hernandez / Peto" with a side note "Peto 4?, Side 2". (As of now the recording he transcribed has not been identified. It is NOT the text for Track 2 of the "Peto 4" tape.--JJT, 6/27/18.)

- archival Peto 2 Contents: The interview takes place at the "Casa de Refugio"--apparently the Vermont's family home. in addition to the voices of the interviewers, one hears the voices of two men and one woman.
- archival Peto 4 (Note: There is probably only one interviewer on this recording. Also note: At present no transcription for Track 2 has been found. It is NOT the text labeled "Don Pepe Hernandez / Peto".)
- archival Peto 5 Contents: "Old man tells of war of the Castes"--from the back of the box
- archival Pisté – El comisario Contents: This recording consists of three interviews: Track 1 is devoted to "El Comisario", a man otherwise unnamed; Track 2 switches to another interview (in Quintana Roo?) with a man talking about Christian doctrine. About the 19-minute mark a voice says "En Pisté" and a new interview begins.
- archival Tekax Contents: Blair and Vermont interview a certain "Doña Tina” in a town (?) called "la Partera".
- archival Tizimin Contents (from the back of box): Track 1: Conversation between R. Vermont and sick man's family [McQuown notes that the speakers are "monolingual".] Track 2: Conversation between R. Vermont and the neighbors of the sick man [Note: At the top of the back of the box McQuown lists the speakers as Blair, Refugio, "viejo", "hijo" and "esposa". At the bottom he lists the subjects of the discussion as: sickness, religion, living conditions, airplane travel, household implements (batea), weaving (baskets & hammocks), and fruit trees.]
- archival Xocempich: tienda Contents: Blair is assisted by an (unnamed) American assistant with whom he speaks English.
- archival Fiesta de Navidad maya Contents: At a Christmas celebration (in Peto?), conducted in Maya, unnamed men and women sing traditional Christmas songs; a man apparently tells the Christmas story from the Gospels; and two (?) men conclude the recording with addresses to the crowd. (In the first address a man mentions "sukuun Refugio" (i.e., younger brother Refugio), which seems to indicate that this is indeed Refugio Vermont-Salas's home town.)
- archival Conversacion maya; Canciones ("3.") Contents (from McQuown's notes from the back of the box): (I) 12/17/63 RVS + "cuñado" (0 - 5.0) (I) 12/17/63 Pustunich "Canción Maya" (5.0 - 5.3) (I) 12/17/63 Pustunich Cancion Español (5.3 - 5.5) [Note: Norman McQuown speaks briefly at the beginning; Refugio and a man called "cuñado" [brother-in-law] engage in a short conversation. Two songs follow, the first in Maya, the second in Spanish. The first song appears to be on a phonograph record. (The lyrics appear to be the same as the ones on the first cut of the Andrade Yucatec discs.) The second song could be a live recording.]
- archival Peto (INI) ("4".): Conversaciones Mayas Contents: Robert Blair ("RB") and Refugio Vermont-Salas ("RVS") interview native speakers: Track 1: 12/12/63 Conversaciones 12/15/63 RB + mujer de Chetumal 12/16/63 RVS and Marcelino Ekʼ and Waldemaro Cawich Track 2: 12/16/63 RVS + Waldemaro Cawich RVS + Marcelino Ekʼ [Note: The meaning of "INI" is unkown at this time.--JJT, 6/2718]

Speaking with an American accent, this person addresses the native consultant (Umberto?) in both Spanish and Maya. (This speaker does not appear to be the same as on the other tapes.) The only clue as to who this speaker might be occurs halfway through Side 2, when he says, "Bring me an orange, Gloria, and bring Umberto a Pepsi."
